The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index today inched up and is still more than 70 points away from an awaited bullish trend in another mixed performance by the sub-indices to close at 6,679.13 points, up by 18.02 points or 0.27 percent.

The day saw another muted rally with a new IPO going back to its trading price as investors remain waiting on the sidelines for better economic news.
Index-heavy holding firms brought out positive results as it went up by 1 percent on the back of market bellwether SM Investments' rise to P937.50, up by P13.50, JG Summit's gain of 55 centavos to P44.70, and Ayala Corp's advance by P2 to P643.
Also adding to the gain in the index were the mining and oil sub-index increase of 1.45 percent as Atlas Mining went up by 8 centavos to P3.71, and of NickelAsia's rise of 29 centavos to P6.25.
The other gainer was that of services which rose by 0.09 percent while financials lost 0.11 percent, industrials by 0.29 percent and property by 0.02 percent.
BDO Unibank emerged as the most active with P671 million in trades as it gained 70 centavos to P148.20 while Universal Robina came in second with P328 million in trades as it lost P2.80 to P125.70.
Market bellwether SM Investments was third most active with trades of P256 million. Value turnover is still shy of P1.6 billion from its average with total trades of P4.43 billion. There were 78 gainers 87 losers and 56 shares unchanged.
Among the gainers were SM Prime, up by 10 centavos to P33.60, PLDT, up by P16 to P1,335, ICTSI, up by 60 centavos to P207, Aboitiz Power, up 70 centavos to P36.70 and ACEN Corp., up by 29 centavos to P6.25.
GT Capital and Meralco were both unchanged at P540 and P350, respectively.
The losers included Ayala Land, down by 45 centavos to P27, Bank of PI, down 80 centavos to P117.50, Metro Pacific, down 2 centavos to P4.88, Semirara Mining, down 35 centavos to P29.50, Globe Telecom, down P9 to P1,921, Security Bank, down 90 centavos to P82.90, and Metrobank, down 45 centavos to P59.
