The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index rebounded after a week of losses, rising to 5,907.89 points, up by 41.10 points or 0.70 percent.

Investor sentiment improved as traders positioned for potential gains amid ongoing ceasefire talks, prompting bargain hunting despite continued uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and rising oil prices.
Industrials and services stocks led the advance. Meralco climbed 2% to ₱662, while ICTSI gained 1.98% to ₱720.
Property stocks, however, remained under pressure following announcements related to the discontinuation of certain luxury developments by Ayala Land.
Banking stocks also advanced on bargain hunting. BDO Unibank rose 2.75%, while Bank of the Philippine Islands added 0.88% to ₱91.80.
Foreign investors were net buyers at ₱279 million, with total purchases of ₱4.23 billion against sales of ₱3.95 billion. Market breadth was positive, with 105 gainers versus 78 losers.
Value turnover reached ₱7.71 billion, reflecting stronger trading activity.
Market participants are expected to closely watch developments over the next few days, particularly the progress of ceasefire efforts, which could significantly influence near-term market direction.
