PSE Index Seesaws, But Ends The Day Down

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index today declined, but not after hitting a recent high as investors cashed in their gains resulting in a slight decline of 40.16 points or 0.58 percent to 6,880.20 points.

Holding firms was the lone gainer among the sub-indices after the sell-down from investors taking profits that saw the index hit a high of 6,974.97 points and then drop to a low of 6,861.01 points.


The property sub-index posted the biggest loss at 2.17 percent as Ayala Land lost P1 to P32.60 and SM Prime went down by 60 centavos to P32.90.


The other losers were the financials, which went down by 0.77 percent, industrials by 0.88 percent, services by 1.39 percent, and mining and oil by 0.18 percent.

Converge emerged as the top traded stock with P655 million as it rose by 50 centavos to P35 while the second most active stock, Monde, with trades of P542 million went up by 74 centavos to P19. AC Energy lost 10 centavos to P10.10. while Globe went down by P134 to P3,040. PLDT rose P5 to P1,485.


Jollibee went down by P4.70 to P199.50 while Dito lost 6 centavos to P8.24 value turnover hit P7.55 million, with 64 gainers, 128 losers, and 51 shares unchanged.
