The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index today surged some more confounding naysayers ratcheting to a hefty 3.14 percent increase or 217.15 points to another milestone level at 7,124.01 points.

The property sector saw life gaining an impressive 5.48 percent as Ayala Land rose by p2.15 to P38 or up by 6.35 percent and SM Prime went up by p1.50 to P35.15 or 5.71 percent.
The financials rose by 4.5 percent with BDO Unibank up by P6.20 to P127.20, Bank of Pi up p2.70 to p83.75, and Metrobank up by p2.60 to p49.10.
Holding firms gained by 2.74 percent, industrials by 1.77 percent mining and oil by 1.81 percent, and services by 0.15 percent.
Value turnover amounted to p11.75 million with 122 gainers, 60 losers, and 58 shares unchanged.
Converge emerged as the most active stock with p1.177 billion in trades closing at P38, up by p2.40, while Wilcon was the second most active as it went down on profit-taking losing p4.55 or 13.02 percent to p30.40 with trades of P920 million.
Market bellwether SM Investments gained P39 to P1,005 while AC Energy rise by 22 centavos to p12.84.
