The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index today went up but market players remained tentative in their investments with the gainers and losers almost even with average value turnover as it closed 75.55 points or 1.07 percent higher to 7,130.74 points.

There were 94 gainers and 93 losers showing the continued uncertainty though the market opened at its lowest at 7,075.76 and went up to 7,151.48 before profit-taking tripped it.
Market bellwether SM Investments declined by P4 to p935 as the financials found resonance with the big gains posted by banks for the third quarter.
BDO Unibank emerged as the most active with its shares unchanged at p120 on trades of p569 million, while Bank of PI and Metrobank posted gains of P3 to p93.80 and p1.50 to p51 respectively. GT Capital also went up by p1.50 to p561.50 on trades of p70 million.
Jollibee rose by P4 to p227 while converge went up by a peso to p32.50 with trades of p410.6 million, the second most active stock. Globe lost p38 to P3,242 while PLDT gained p73 to P1,698. Monde lost 22 centavos to p16.50 while ICTSI advanced by p5.90 to p199.90.
The financials gained 1.71 percent while the industrials advanced by 0.74 percent, holding, by 0.27 percent, services, by 1.97 percent, and property, by 1.12 percent. Mining and oil lost 1.31 percent.
