PSE Index Up Anew

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index today gained anew with value turnover more than double average trades closing 64.40 points up or 0.89 percent to 7,297.66 points.

Value turnover amounted to p14.46 billion with 89 gainers, 92 losers, and 47 shares unchanged with market bellwether SM Investments gaining p20 to p999 while top traded stock Monde with p4.4 billion losing 68 centavos to p15.32.
Solar power gained by just one centavo to p1.01 with p1.61 billion in trades in its market debut. Investors have been hurt by the medic lines IPO which crashed to a 30 percent freeze price decline that hurt the investment community.
PLDT was up by p1.90 to P1,900 on trades of p929 million, but Globe lost p74 to P3,526. Converge closed at p32, up by p1.10. The financials, holding firms, property, and services respectively rose by 0.10 percent, 1.48 percent, 0.87 percent, and 0.81 percent. The industrials lost 0.42 percent while mining and oil dropped by 0.57 percent.
Among the gainers were SM Prime, up by 80 centavos to p35.80, Ayala Corp, up p16.50 to p881, Jollibee, up a peso to p224, and ICTSI, up p1.20 to p197.90.
