Puma Taps Athletics, Chess World Champs Karsten Warholm And Magnus Carlsen As Brand Ambassadors

PUMA Ambassadors and World Champions Karsten Warholm and Magnus Carlsen challenge themselves as they enter each other's worlds, reported Business Wire. In an interview with sports brand PUMA, the Norwegian athletes describe their first steps in athletics and chess and recall the importance of having fun while practicing a sport.

"It all starts with having fun, whatever discipline opens its doors to you," says Karsten. "For me, the important thing was to spend time with my friends. That's what made me persevere."

Magnus also talks about his experience: "I started specializing when I was eight years old, but I didn't take it as a constraint. I played chess all the time, not because someone imposed it on me, but because I loved it."

“I think at a certain point you become competitive against yourself,” Magnus says. "If I win a game without performing well, I'm not happy with myself."
