RockawayX, a Prague-based digital-asset investment firm managing approximately $2 billion in assets, announced the acquisition of Relayer Capital on Aug. 25.

Relayer was founded by Austin Barack, who joined RockawayX as chief investment officer of the new RockawayX Liquid Opportunities Fund.

The new fund is designed as a directional long/short strategy investing in liquid cryptocurrency tokens and crypto-related equities. RockawayX said it is open to new external investors.

The move expands RockawayX beyond its traditional venture-capital activities. The firm has also expanded into crypto investment products and vault strategies as digital-asset markets have matured.

Forbes reported that RockawayX was seeking approximately $150 million for the new vehicle, citing people familiar with the matter.

The company itself confirmed the creation of the fund and the acquisition of Relayer but did not state in its announcement that it had raised $150 million.

RockawayX said Relayer's liquid strategy had generated an estimated net return of about 70% year to date as of Aug. 21, 2026. The company cautioned that past performance does not guarantee future results and that digital-asset investments carry substantial risks.
