Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier have been arrested as part of an FBI sports-gambling investigation, the agency announced at a news conference, Yahoo Sports reported.

In addition to Billups and Rozier, former Cleveland Cavaliers player and assistant coach Damon Jones was also arrested.
The arrests are connected to two separate cases — one involving sports gambling and the other an illegal poker ring.
Rozier was named in the sports gambling indictment, Billups in the poker operation, which allegedly involved several organized crime families. Jones is one of three defendants named in both cases.
Rozier and Billups appeared in court and are both expected to be released from custody. Billups’ attorney, Chris Heywood, said his client would fight the charges.
“Anyone who knows Chauncey Billups knows he is a man of integrity; men of integrity do not cheat and defraud others,” Heywood wrote.
“Chauncey Billups has never backed down. He does not plan to do so now. He will fight these allegations with the same tenacity that marked his 28-year career. We look forward to our day in court.”
