Rupert Murdoch, the 92-year-old media magnate who founded Fox News, is resigning from his roles as the head of both Fox's parent company and his News Corp. media holdings, as reported by the Associated Press (AP).

Fox made an announcement last week, stating that Murdoch would assume the position of chairman emeritus at both companies.
His son, Lachlan, will take on the role of chairman at News Corp. and continue to serve as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Fox Corp.
Lachlan Murdoch expressed gratitude, saying, "We appreciate his willingness to serve as chairman emeritus, and we are confident that he will continue to offer valuable guidance to both companies."
