Russian Duma Speaker Slams U.S. Military Participation In Ukraine

Russian Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has accused the US of being directly involved in Ukraine’s spirited defense against Russia. Volodin claims that the US is providing war equipment and intelligence for the Ukrainian military, which has scored a series of battlefield victories in the Donbas region.

The US, alongside other Western allies, has supplied Ukraine with heavy weapons but has repeatedly stated they won’t take part in fighting themselves. The UK will provide Ukraine with an additional $1.6 billion in military aid.



This was announced by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson ahead of the May 8 video meeting of the G7 leaders and President Volodymyr Zelensky. Johnson will also hold a separate meeting to discuss ramping up production to meet demands for the ongoing war in Ukraine.


Former US Ambassador to Russia calls on diplomats to avoid attending the May 9 parade on Red Square. Michael McFaul tweeted that other diplomats who are against Russia’s war should show solidarity with Ukraine by boycotting the parade.

European Pravda said that German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will visit Ukraine on May 10. The visit will follow President Volodymyr Zelensky’s May 9 address to G7 leaders, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
