Russian Missile Attacks Deprive Moldova Of Power Supply

Russia's Dec. 5 large-scale missile attacks on Ukraine have caused electricity cut-offs in Moldova, irking millions of citizens who have had to dodge wayward missiles as well, Kyiv Independent reported.

The Ukrainian General Staff has reported that Russia has lost 91,690 troops in Ukraine since Feb. 24. By Dec. 5, Russia had 2,924 tanks destroyed along with 5,900 armored fighting vehicles, 4,497 vehicles and fuel tanks,1,914 artillery systems, 395 multiple launch rocket systems, 211 air defense systems, 281 airplanes, 264 helicopters, 1,582 drones and 16 boats, Ukrinform reported.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised his country’s air defense system for downing more than 60 Russian missiles on Dec. 5 out of more than 70 that Moscow had unleashed. Ukrainian warplanes shot down more than six missiles while anti-aircraft guns and rockets destroyed the rest.

Ukraine Daily has reported that the US Army plans a dramatic increase in ammunition production amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The US Army said it will raise the monthly output of 155 mm artillery shells over the next three years since donations to Ukraine are “straining allied munitions stockpiles,” Doug Bush, the assistant secretary of the US Army for acquisition, also told Defense News, a US media outlet.
