On June 4, 2022, The Moscow Times reported that the outspoken father of a missing Russian conscript stated he was questioned by the country's security agencies.

Dmitry Shkrebets is the father of Yegor Shkrebets, a Russian conscript thought to have died in the sinking of Russia's Black Sea Fleet flagship Moskva in April.

After the battleship sank and their sons were proclaimed missing, Shkrebets was one of the first and most outspoken parents of the Moskva crew to seek information regarding their kids' fate.

Agents from an anonymous security agency arrived at Shkrebets' residence and questioned him about supposed bomb threats, he said on the Russian social media network VK.

"It seemed to someone that the tragic death of my son did not shock me enough, not enough grief, not enough trouble," he wrote on the online platform Thursday. "Someone wanted to turn me into a 'frostbitten' terrorist," Shkrebets claims.

Security service agents believe that "messages were sent to various groups with bomb threats by e-mail (international) on his behalf." He disputes these claims, calling them "absurd."
