Safety Concerns Spark Recall Of Starbucks-Branded Mugs

Nestlé USA has initiated a recall of over 440,000 metallic Starbucks-branded holiday mugs due to potential safety hazards, as reported by Ramishah Maruf for CNN.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) stated that these mugs pose risks of overheating or breaking when subjected to microwave use or filled with extremely hot liquids.


The CPSC highlighted twelve incidents involving the mugs overheating or breaking, resulting in ten injuries, including severe burns and blisters on hands and fingers, as well as one cut requiring medical attention.

The affected gift sets include ceramic mugs coated in metallic finishes with Starbucks branding, available in 11 oz and 16 oz sizes. This recall underscores the importance of consumer safety in product design and manufacturing processes.
