Samsung Launches Digital Wallet

Samsung Electronics has announced the release of Samsung Wallet, a new platform that allows Galaxy users to organize digital keys, boarding passes, identification cards, and other items in a single, simple, and secure mobile application.

“Samsung Wallet is bringing a new level of everyday convenience to mobile devices with a totally safe and secure environment for storing digital keys, cards, and more,” said Jeanie Han, EVP and Head of Digital Life, MX Business at Samsung Electronics.


Samsung Wallet is protected by Samsung Knox's defense-grade security and leverages an open Galaxy ecosystem by integrating with Samsung Blockchain Wallet to easily monitor cryptocurrencies and SmartThings to unlock doors.



More Than Just a Payment System


Samsung Wallet provides users with a refined interface and one-swipe access to their payment cards, loyalty and membership cards, and more.


Samsung Wallet also incorporates the functionality of Samsung Pass, which securely stores passwords and allows users to quickly and easily log into apps and services. It also assists users in quickly monitoring their digital asset portfolio by checking the value of their cryptocurrencies across various exchanges in one place.


Later this year, Samsung Wallet will support official IDs like mobile driver's licenses and student IDs.

Easy access to home and transportation


Users can easily add digital home keys to conveniently lock and unlock their doors with a Galaxy device thanks to the integration of SmartThings and Samsung's partnerships with well-known home security companies.


Samsung Wallet also supports digital automobile keys on select BMW, Genesis, and Hyundai models, allowing users to lock and unlock vehicles, start engines, and do other things. Furthermore, Samsung's partnership with Korean Air allows Korean Air boarding passes to be stored in Samsung Wallet for easy access, making boarding a flight simple and convenient.

Protected by Samsung Knox, it is as safe as it is simple


Samsung Knox, a defense-grade security platform, protects Samsung Wallet. Fingerprint recognition and encryption are two safeguards that help protect users' sensitive data by ensuring that only the device owners have access to their vital information.


In addition to Samsung Knox, certain key sensitive items in Samsung Wallet are stored in an isolated environment — the embedded Secure Element, which also helps protect against digital and physical hacking.
