Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman announced this significant discovery, bringing the total reserves at Jafurah to 229 trillion cubic feet of gas and 75 billion barrels of condensates.
The Jafurah field represents Saudi Arabia's largest unconventional non-oil-associated gas reservoir and holds immense potential for shale gas development. With investments estimated at $110 billion, Aramco aims to utilize advanced extraction techniques to harness this valuable resource.
The field's output is projected to reach 420 million cubic feet per day of ethane and 630,000 barrels per day of gas liquids and condensates by 2030.
This discovery underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to expanding its gas reserves and diversifying its energy portfolio, positioning itself as a key player in the global energy landscape.
