The expansion project will bring 625 new jobs to the area over the next five years and represents a $150 million investment.
The expansion will include the development of a new 250,000-square-foot building to house parts of SIG SAUER's manufacturing processes.
The company will focus on component hybrid case manufacturing, primer manufacturing, and other operations to support contracts with the US Department of Defense.
SIG SAUER originally opened its facility in Jacksonville in 2016 and currently employs nearly 350 workers there. This expansion is expected to further strengthen the company's presence in the region and contribute to economic growth.
The investment in ammunition manufacturing aligns with the company's commitment to serving the defense and firearms industry and is expected to have a positive impact on the local community and workforce.
