South Korea played down any possibility of a rift with the US over a report that American intelligence agencies had eavesdropped on allies’ discussions about Ukraine, saying its alliance with Washington remains strong, Jeong-Ho Lee reported for Bloomberg News.

It said the allegation made in the report about internal discussions on Ukraine is “not a confirmed matter.”
Other US allies also belittled the supposed leak, saying the so-called leak was comprised of old material, with some parts photoshopped and edited, meaning those who leaked the document meddled with figures and facts, thus polluting its credibility.
