SpaceX shares fell to a new all-time low ahead of a key Starship test flight as the company bets its future launch business on the next-generation rocket, Pras Subramanian reported for Yahoo Finance.

According to Bloomberg News, SpaceX has begun limiting future bookings for its Falcon 9 launch services as it shifts its long-term focus toward Starship.

The company has reportedly stopped accepting new dedicated Falcon 9 launch reservations beyond 2028 and is no longer taking future bookings for its Falcon 9 rideshare program, which allows multiple satellite operators to share a single launch.

SpaceX shares fell 2.7% on Friday to a record closing low of $115.07, extending their weekly loss to 7.2%.

The strategy represents a significant bet that Starship will eventually replace Falcon 9 as the company's primary launch vehicle.

Starship was scheduled to conduct its 13th test flight later that evening after an earlier launch attempt was scrubbed when several engines failed to ignite.
