The approval rating has declined by 15 percentage points since the last survey on Oct. 3, following a poor showing by the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its coalition partner Komeito in the Oct. 27 House of Representatives election.
The coalition fell short of a majority, marking the first minority government since 1994.
Despite the electoral setback, Ishiba was reappointed prime minister during a special Diet session on Nov. 11. The latest poll, conducted using the "d-Survey" method, gathered valid responses from 1,919 smartphone users aged 18 and older.
