Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower), through its retail electricity supply company Advent Energy, Inc., has been tapped to provide Cleanergy to leading BPO firm Teleperformance Philippines, initially powering their Bacolod and Sucat offices and bringing them closer to their sustainability goals.

Cleanergy is AboitizPower's renewable energy (RE) solutions brand, supplying power to communities and businesses from run-of-river, large hydro, solar, and geothermal sources.
The transition to a Cleanergy future, according to AboitizPower Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations Sandro Aboitiz, involves the convergence of many factors, including consumer choices, supportive government policies, and industry participation.
"This partnership with Teleperformance affirms our efforts to emphasize the impact retail electricity customers have in preserving the environment through the kind of energy they choose," Aboitiz stated.
"We are happy that through the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), we can collaborate with various industries under a long-term goal of achieving business sustainability and energy security through Cleanergy."
The GEOP is a national government program that empowers consumers by allowing them to choose renewable energy as their energy solution. This program is aimed at assisting the country in achieving energy independence by reducing reliance on imported energy sources such as fossil fuels.
AboitizPower revealed that the company has set aside P190 billion to expand its RE portfolio to 4,600 MW, or threefold its current capacity, by 2030. This investment will help meet the market's growing demands while also contributing to the management of climate-related risks.
Teleperformance Committed to Cleanergy
Teleperformance, one of the Philippines' most prominent BPO companies, employing over 57,000 people across 23 business sites and contributing to the country's economic growth is committed to this RE initiative, and has stated that they intend to transition more offices to Cleanergy in the future.
"We take our participation in the Philippines' nation-building a step further by adding climate action as part of our commitment to the environment, which we call the Citizen of the Planet initiative,” Teleperformance Philippines Chief Executive Officer Francisco Lara said.
Lara also stated that making the switch to RE was simple since they had a reliable partner in AboitizPower and hope that their action will inspire other BPOs in the country to be as environmentally conscious and consider switching to RE.
