Tesla has introduced limits on employees' spending for artificial intelligence tools as companies seek to control rapidly rising AI-related expenses, The Telegraph reported.

Beginning this week, Tesla employees will be limited to $200 per week in spending on AI services unless they receive special approval.
The spending cap does not apply to Grok, the artificial intelligence platform developed by Elon Musk's company xAI.
Many large corporations have encouraged employees to adopt AI tools to improve productivity. Earlier this year, Musk said artificial intelligence could dramatically increase output per Tesla employee.
However, growing AI adoption has also led to rising operating costs as usage expands. Companies have also expressed concerns that employees may be relying on AI for routine tasks simply to demonstrate adoption.
According to the report, Uber has capped employee AI spending at $1,500 per month, while Meta, Walmart, and Coinbase are also planning similar controls.
The AI spending cap at Tesla was first reported by technology publication The Information.
