THOUSANDS JOIN PRO-PALESTINIAN MARCHES IN FRANCE

Thousands of people in France attended demonstrations in Paris and other cities on Saturday, May 22, 2021, in support of Palestinians.

Fighting between Israel and Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip stopped on Friday after 11 days of conflict that left 232 people dead in Gaza and claimed 12 lives in Israel. The authorities permitted the rally in Paris to go ahead.

Last week, police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse a pro-Palestinian rally that was held despite a ban. Dozens of demonstrators were arrested.
