This significant revenue surge comes amid looming regulatory threats from Washington, where the viral video-sharing app faces the risk of being banned.
ByteDance's overall revenue in 2023 reached $120 billion, a 40% increase from the previous year, largely attributed to TikTok's explosive growth. While the US market contributed substantially to TikTok's revenue, China remains a significant revenue source for ByteDance.
The report suggests that ByteDance is on track to surpass Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook) as the world's largest social media company by sales, indicating TikTok's dominant position in the global market.
