A Torah ark in a Jewish prayer room in the transit area of Germany's Frankfurt Airport has been daubed with a swastika, Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa) reported.

The anti-Semitic graffiti had been discovered a few days ago, the police told dpa early Saturday.
The prayer room had been closed for a long period of time due to coronavirus-related measures and had only recently been opened, which is why the desecration of the Torah ark - an ornamental chamber that houses the Jewish scripture scrolls - was only noticed now.
The Orthodox Rabbinical Conference Germany (ORD) said: "This hatred of Jews must finally stop." The ugly face of anti-Semitism does not stop even in places of encounter and silence, where people from all over the world meet briefly while traveling, it said. The State Security Service is investigating.
