Toyota Motor Corp. is set to cancel orders received from customers for the hybrid model of the Raize small SUV, as reported by informed sources, according to Jiji Press.

This decision is driven by the absence of a foreseeable resumption of production for the model due to an ongoing investigation into crash test misconduct discovered at Daihatsu Motor Co., the manufacturer of the Raize, and a subsidiary of Toyota.
Daihatsu will also cancel orders for the hybrid model of the Rocky small SUV, which is of the same type as Toyota's Raize.
Both the Raize and Rocky hybrids are produced at Daihatsu plants.
In May, Daihatsu revealed irregularities in the certification procedures for side crash tests, leading to the suspension of shipments and sales of related models. A third-party committee is currently investigating the issue to determine its cause.
It is expected that tens of thousands of units will be affected by these order cancellations.
Starting on Saturday, Toyota car dealers began contacting customers who had ordered the Raize hybrid, offering them the option to switch to other car models.
The Raize and Rocky hybrids were initially released in November 2021, with their cumulative sales reaching approximately 78,000 units.
