Toyota is recalling about 280,000 pickup trucks and SUVs in the US to fix a transmission problem that can cause the vehicles to creep forward while in neutral, the Associated Press (AP) reported.
The recall covers certain Toyota Tundra pickups and Lexus LX 600 SUVs from the 2022 and 2023 model years, as well as 2023 and 2024 Toyota Sequoia SUVs. I Photo: Lexus Peru

Toyota stated on Wednesday that certain parts of the vehicles’ automatic transmissions may not immediately disengage when shifted into neutral, potentially transferring engine power to the wheels.
This issue could cause the vehicles to move forward at low speeds on flat surfaces if the brakes aren’t applied, posing a risk of a crash.
The company did not disclose whether any crashes or injuries had resulted from this issue. Dealers will update the transmission software to resolve the problem, with owners scheduled to be notified by late April, Toyota said.
