Toyota is recalling more than 440,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a defect in the reverse lights that may reduce rear visibility and increase the risk of accidents, USA Today's Mary Walrath-Holdridge reported.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said 443,444 vehicles—specifically 2022–2025 model year Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid trucks—are affected.
Moisture can infiltrate the light assemblies over time, leading to reverse light failure.
Owners will be notified by mail beginning June 30, 2025, and can take their vehicles to Toyota dealerships for free repairs.
The fix may involve replacing the reverse light assemblies or wire harnesses. For more information, customers can contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331, referencing recall numbers 24TB06 and 24TA06.
