More than a week after Donald Trump threatened to sue CNN, the former US president is asking supporters on his email list to contribute money to help him fight his lawsuit against the outlet for propagating the truth that he lied about the 2020 presidential election result, Vishwam Sankaran reported for the UK’s The Independent.

Trump said late last month that he would sue CNN and “other media outlets” for dismissing his voter fraud claims despite the fact that he had failed to provide evidence to prove his claims that President Joe Biden stole the election from him.

Trump lost 62 court cases as his lawyers argued that they had a lot of theories but could not generate evidence that could stand in court. Trump continues to prattle about the “overwhelming fraud” during the November 2020 election.

Judges who heard Trump’s suits dismissed all of them since they had no legal leg to stand on and Trump himself only made fact-free allegations. They criticized Trump for trying to use the bench to support his wild imagings.

In a 282-page letter sent to CNN chief Chris Licht last month, the lawyer argued that CNN defamed Trump, calling him a liar for his unproven voter fraud allegations and “consistently fed a narrative that denounced President Trump’s legitimacy and competency.”

All the news: Business man in suit and tie smiling and reading a newspaper near the financial district.

The letter includes collections of articles and on-air reports that Trump alleges are false and defamatory.

“CNN’s reporting, both before the election as well as after the election, consistently fed a narrative that denounced President Trump’s legitimacy and competency,” the letter noted.

Now, in a new fundraising email sent out by the former president, he has reportedly called on his “best and most dedicated supporters” to add their names to “stand with me in my impending LAWSUIT against Fake News CNN.”

He added: “I’m going to look over the names of the first 45 Patriots who added their names to publicly stand with their President AGAINST CNN.”
