President Donald Trump has announced new tariffs of 10% on softwood timber and lumber, along with a 25% tariff on “certain upholstered wooden products,” to take effect on October 14, Yahoo Finance reported.

The move follows Trump’s September 26 Truth Social post announcing tariffs on kitchen cabinets, vanities, and other upholstered products, set to take effect October 1.
A full list of affected goods has yet to be released.
Trump had previewed the measures last week as part of his broader trade agenda targeting pharmaceuticals, heavy trucks, and kitchen cabinetry.
Those tariffs range from 30% to 100%, including a 100% duty on patented drugs — with exemptions if producers are building U.S. manufacturing plants or if covered by a trade agreement.
