The aid package has been delayed for two months and includes support for US allies, humanitarian aid for civilians in Ukraine and Gaza, and funding to replenish US weapons provided to Taiwan.

Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, faces political pressure from GOP lawmakers as he navigates the divided support within the party for aiding Kyiv against Moscow's invasion.

The recent attack by Iran on Israel has further intensified the urgency to approve the funding. Johnson expressed determination to stand with Israel and push for the aid package during the week, highlighting the necessity of supporting key allies in the region.
