U.S. Recalls 8 Tons Of Walmart Beef Over E. Coli Contamination

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a recall of more than 16,000 pounds of raw ground beef products due to concerns about E. coli contamination, CNN reported.


While there have been no confirmed reports of illness due to the meat, Cargill Meat Solutions initiated the recall "out of an abundance of caution."



The meat, produced by Cargill Meat Solutions, was distributed to Walmart retail locations across the US. According to a USDA recall notice, the potentially contaminated beef was produced on April 26 and April 27.


While there have been no confirmed reports of illness due to the meat, Cargill Meat Solutions initiated the recall "out of an abundance of caution."



The affected product was distributed to Walmart stores across several states and Washington, DC. Walmart emphasized its commitment to customer safety, stating that upon notification of the recall, it promptly removed the impacted products and informed customers who may have purchased them.
