The UK government is stepping up efforts to persuade AI company Anthropic to expand its presence in London, according to a Financial Times report.

Officials from the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology have outlined proposals that include expanding office operations and potentially pursuing a dual listing.
The plans are expected to be presented to Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei during a visit to the UK in late May.
The push comes amid heightened tensions between the company and the U.S. Department of Defense, which has reportedly raised concerns about supply chain risks.
U.S. President Donald Trump also criticized the company after it declined to support certain military applications of its technology.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan has backed the effort, describing the UK capital as a stable and pro-innovation environment for AI development.
