Ukraine Battlefield Wins Cause Flood Of Weapons Shipments

Following successive battlefield victories, scores of nations have beefed up their military support for Kyiv, with even former Soviet republics donating weapons and humanitarian assistance, and the US, UK, and NATO pledged to ship in more tanks, artillery systems, and armored personnel carriers (APCs), Ukraine Daily reported.

The German government says it doesn’t plan to provide Ukraine with Leopard tanks without an agreement with other NATO members but Politico reported that France and Poland have urged Germany to send an undisclosed number of Leopard tanks, which German Economy Minister Robert Habeck hinted to German radio and Reuters that Berlin would do.

Sky News reports that the British government is considering supplying Ukraine with Challenger 2 main battle tanks. The discussion on the delivery of the British-made Challenger 2 battle tanks has been taking place for a “couple of weeks.”

Britain might offer around 10 Challenger 2 tanks which will be “enough to equip a squadron.”

Aside from sending 50 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, the US is also poised to send Stryker armored combat vehicles to Ukraine in a new aid package amid fears of a renewed Russian offensive in spring, Politico reported.

This is apart from ther M-109 Paladin self-propelled artillery pieces that have arrived in Ukraine and the 100 containers of artillery rounds from Pakistan, 60 combat vehicles from Canada, fleets of ambulances.

Sweden is also providing Ukraine with Archer artillery systems as disclosed by Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on Jan. 9.
