Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, one of Ukraine’s most recognizable figures on the international stage, has submitted his resignation on Wednesday ahead of an expected government reshuffle.

Meanwhile, Russian strikes killed seven people in a western Ukrainian city, a day after one of the deadliest missile attacks since the war began, Illia Novikov and Emma Burrows reported for the Associated Press (AP).
Kuleba, 43, did not provide a reason for his resignation. His departure will be discussed by lawmakers at their next session, according to parliamentary Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, who announced the news on his Facebook page.
Four other Cabinet ministers also tendered their resignations late Tuesday, making the reshuffle likely to be the largest since Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hinted last week that a reshuffle was imminent, as the war is poised to enter a critical phase and approaches its 1,000-day mark in November.
Speaking during a press conference in Kyiv with visiting Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris, Zelenskyy said Ukraine needed “new energy, including in diplomacy.”
However, he noted that he couldn’t yet announce replacements, as he was unsure whether the candidates would accept the positions.
