India, the world’s biggest edible oil importer, will receive its first shipments of sunflower oil from Ukraine in September after a five-month gap, the Ukrainian national news agency Ukrinform reported.

According to Sandeep Bajoria, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Mumbai-based broker and trader Sunvin Group, India may receive between 50,000 tons and 60,000 tons as Ukraine opens some Black Sea corridors for agricultural exports, Bloomberg also reported.
Bajoria noted the cargoes would likely be loaded at the seaports of Odesa and Chornomorsk.
“We have started getting offers for August shipments, but it will all depend on availability of vessels. Ukraine has adequate supplies of oilseeds for crushing,” Bajoria said.

In a related development, Ukrainian Ambassador to Lebanon Ihor Ostash revealed that a Syrian ship loaded with stolen barley from Ukraine arrived at the Port of Tripoli on July 27.
The ship was loaded with the illegal cargo in Feodosia. Ostash has complained about the smuggled Ukrainian cargo and notified Lebanese President Michel Aoun about the matter. During the meeting, the issue of Ukrainian wheat supplies to the Lebanese market was also discussed, Ukrinform reported.
