Ukraine’s development minister has savaged Russian forces for being good only in destroying 4,500 houses and nearly 400 schools since Moscow invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, Ella Lee reported for USA TODAY.

“These figures are growing every day, and perhaps every hour,” said Oleksiy Chernyshov, Ukraine’s minister of development of communities and territories, according to the report, which was also carried by Ukrainian news outlet Pravda.

“At this time, when we say the bombing is going on, people are dying, infrastructure is being destroyed."

He added that about 100 factories and enterprises and 150 health care facilities were also destroyed and noted that not all damage can be assessed until the conflict has ceased.

The price tag on the damage could reach “tens of billions” of US dollars, he said, as Russia has been using dumb bombs that either don’t explode or miss their targets completely. Worse, UK and US intelligence estimate that 60% of the more than 1,100 missiles launched by Russian forces explode midair.
