Scholz had previously drawn criticism for sending millions of euros to Vladimir Putin while refusing to support Ukraine in the face of military aggression. Andrij Melnyk, the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, lambasted Berlin for arming Russia while refusing to send military equipment to Ukraine.
However, the German Chancellor has now pledged £150million to help Ukraine, Tara Fair reported for the UK’s Daily Express.

He said that in 2020 alone, Germany sold €366 million (£300 million) of dual-use goods to Russia which can be used to "boost weapon production."
Responding to the German action on Twitter, Alan Sked, professor of international history at London School of Economics (LSE), said: "German policy in the Ukraine crisis is shameful," Monika Pallenberg also reported for Daily Express.
