UNIQLO Creates Tomorrow Wonderland At China Import Expo Using The Art And Science Of LifeWear

The global clothing retailer UNIQLO announced today that it will present the latest developments of LifeWear in the China International Import Expo (CIIE), creating a Tomorrow Wonderland (Wonderland of Tomorrow) 1,000 square meters to showcase its leading technology, innovation, and design concepts to manufacturers, retailers, and consumers around the world.

This year, the Uniqlo booth at the CIIE will also feature a preview of the new global flagship store UNIQLO BEIJING SANLITUN, which will open on Saturday, November 6, as per PR Newswire.

Creating a Tomorrow Wonderland through the art and science of LifeWear


The Tomorrow Wonderland theme embodies UNIQLO's LifeWear concept, which is inspired by the ever-evolving needs of life. The 1,000-square-meter space will showcase the innovation and technologies behind UNIQLO's iconic products across eight zones, including seamless lines, new dimension 3D knit and Hybrid Down, as well as zones dedicated to sustainability and the new global flagship store UNIQLO BEIJING SANLITUN.


Visitors to the stand will be greeted by a giant 2.5 meter 3D knit dress created with WHOLEGARMENT® technology. Combining fashion, technology, and sustainability, 3D knitting saves thread and tailoring, allowing a seamless finish that conforms to the body, achieving an elegant and comfortable wearing experience.

In anticipation of an upcoming big sporting event and the current enthusiasm for winter sports in China, Tomorrow Wonderland is also introducing iconic UNIQLO cold weather products, including Hybrid Down, which employs a fill technology made up of high-quality down. and functional fillers that absorb moisture to generate heat. Designed in collaboration with global brand ambassador UNIQLO and professional snowboarder Ayumu Hirano, Hybrid Down features lightweight, flexible, and incredibly warm designs, perfect for even the coldest days of winter.


In response to the growing importance of green initiatives and low-carbon development, UNIQLO has established an Oasis of Tomorrow zone at the booth. This area highlights sustainable product design concepts such as BlueCycle jeans, which reduce the amount of water used in the jeans finishing process by up to 99%.

Visitors can also see first-hand a rare exhibit from UNIQLO's Miao Embroidery Project, a sustainability initiative created to preserve the traditional embroidery techniques of the Miao people that helps ensure that important cultural traditions are not lost. In this area, a one-square-meter Miao embroidery entitled Life and Growth in Nature will be exhibited.


Other zones that will be featured at Tomorrow Wonderland are UT (UNIQLO Graphic T-Shirt), UNIQLO Essentials, and a preview of the + J Fall / Winter 2021 collection.

A New Benchmark for Digital Retail in China


The UNIQLO BEIJING SANLITUN global flagship store, the company's third flagship store in mainland China and the first in Beijing will open on Saturday, November 6. The new store will engage with Chinese traditions and society, incorporating technology, art, culture, creativity, and sustainability to create a LifeWear experience through selected facilities. UNIQLO also aims to attract young Chinese who frequent the trendy Sanlitun shopping district, providing a shopping experience that merges online and offline offerings, setting a new benchmark for digital retail in China.


The new store will offer customers inventive and unique shopping experiences through facilities that convey the functionality of flagship UNIQLO products, art exhibitions, and the first UNIQLO FLOWER in mainland China.

UNIQLO opened its first store in China in September 2002, and the company currently has some 850 points of sale in more than 180 cities in mainland China. UNIQLO first exhibited at the China International Import Expo in 2020, where it attracted attention and praise from the media and industry. UNIQLO will exhibit at the fair in 2021 for the second year in a row and also plans to exhibit at CIIE 2022.
