United Airlines Orders 110 Airbus And Boeing Jets

United Airlines announced recently an order for 110 aircraft from Boeing and Airbus, with deliveries set to begin in 2028 as part of its plans to expand its international network, according to Reuters.

United plans to convert existing options and purchase rights into firm orders, including 50 Boeing 787-9s scheduled for delivery between 2028 and 2031, and 60 Airbus A321neos to be delivered between 2028 and 2030. I Photo: The Boeing Company Facebook

The Chicago-based carrier stated that this order is also intended to address the ongoing supply chain challenges that have caused delays in aircraft deliveries and infrastructure constraints leading to flight reductions.

Additionally, United has secured new options for up to 50 more 787s and purchase rights for an additional 40 A321neo aircraft by the end of the decade. This order reflects the rebound in demand for long-distance widebody jets driven by international travel needs.

Other airlines, such as Air Canada and Air France-KLM, have recently placed orders for similar aircraft.

Furthermore, there has been an increased demand for narrowbody jets, especially larger models like the A321, in response to changing travel dynamics since the pandemic.
