Donald Trump’s White House still includes staffers who believe he is unfit to be president, according to a former senior administration official who famously sounded the alarm during Trump’s first term, Martin Pengelly reported for Raw Story.

The insider said Trump “is still the same man—but worse and emboldened, still deeply impulsive, but now without checks and balances around him.”
“If I were sitting with Donald Trump right now, I would say, ‘I have friends in your White House, and some of them are … lying very, very low, but share some of the same concerns I had during the first Trump administration,’” said Miles Taylor.
He added that Trump “is still the same man—but worse and emboldened, still deeply impulsive, but now without checks and balances around him.”
Taylor was speaking to Clinton adviser turned Lincoln biographer Sidney Blumenthal and Princeton historian Sean Wilentz on their podcast, The Court of History.
He served as chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security when he wrote the anonymous 2018 New York Times op-ed stating he was part of a group of senior officials working to curb Trump’s most dangerous impulses.
Since returning to office, Trump signed an executive order suggesting Taylor may have committed treason and ordering an investigation. In response, Taylor filed a legal complaint this month, calling on federal watchdogs to probe the retaliation against him.
