Rosemarie B. Ong, Wilcon Depot Inc. senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, told reporters at the Outstanding Filipino Retailers (OFR) Awards 2023 “TIBAY, Gabi ng Pagpupugay” on Thursday, July 8 that they are aggressively expanding their nationwide footprint.
“We’re close to our ‘Our Flying High to 100’,” said Ong, noting that they already have already 86 stores at present.
“We will continue to expand,” she added. “We should be able to achieve the 100 stores by 2024 although we’ve said we are going to achieve our target by 2025,” Ong added.
For this year, Wilcon has already opened 10 stores and is targeting to open three more. Since their expansion is geared outside Metro Manila, the stores are expected to be medium to small format.
For this year, the expansion program will still be in Luzon and Mindanao. Wilcon’s expansion next year will focus on Visayas and Mindanao, Ong said.
