Amancio Ortega, founder of Inditex and owner of brands such as Zara, has become the world’s largest real estate owner, according to industry estimates.

The milestone reflects Ortega’s long-running strategy of reinvesting dividends from his retail empire into high-value property assets.
His portfolio now includes more than 200 properties worldwide, valued at approximately $25 billion (€21.2 billion), according to reporting by Christina Thykjaer for Euronews.
With an estimated net worth of $148 billion, Ortega ranks among the world’s richest individuals, according to Forbes.
In recent years, the 90-year-old businessman has accelerated acquisitions, focusing on prime office buildings, commercial spaces, and properties linked to major technology firms in key global cities.
His approach underscores a conservative investment strategy centered on stable, income-generating assets rather than higher-risk ventures.
