A recent poll published by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation has revealed that the majority of Ukrainians believe President Volodymyr Zelensky is directly responsible for corruption in the government.

According to a recent Kyiv Independent report, 78% of surveyed Ukrainians hold the president accountable for corruption in both the government and regional administrations.

However, in an interview with CNN on September 10, President Zelensky stated that corruption cases in Ukraine do not involve foreign funds or military aid provided by Kyiv's partners.

The same survey in Ukraine found that 18% of respondents do not attribute direct responsibility for corruption cases to Zelensky.

In a related development, Ukraine Daily reported on September 11 that the newly appointed Defense Minister, Rustem Umerov, had his first telephone conversation with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. They discussed the upcoming meeting of Ukraine's partners at the Ramstein military base in Germany.
