Amidst pledges from EU countries to donate vaccines to developing nations, there has been widespread criticism of rich countries.
WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has issued an alarming statement that it is now becoming increasingly clear that Africa is one of the most at-risk regions for this disease, lamenting further that 70% of African countries will not reach 10% vaccination rates by September.
“Many African countries have prepared well to roll out vaccines, but the vaccines have not arrived,” he added in a report filed by the PBS News Hour.
