Chris Cuomo Tags Elon Musk as "Stupidest Genius" Over Kirk Slaying Theory

NewsNation anchor Chris Cuomo took a swipe at tech billionaire Elon Musk after the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA and a close ally of Donald Trump, Rachel Cohen reported for NJ.com.

On his podcast, The Chris Cuomo Project, Cuomo criticized Musk’s response to the assassination.

Right-wing influencers — and Trump himself — blamed the “radical left” even before details emerged about the suspect. In one series of posts on X, Musk wrote, moments after Trump announced Kirk’s death, that “The Left is the party of murder.”

The post has since received more than 700,000 likes.

Cuomo, calling Musk the “stupidest genius,” said the world’s richest man had “exhausted his usefulness.” He added that Musk’s autism diagnosis should not excuse such remarks.

“Now, does that mean he should be murdered? No, because that’s not how I see the value of human life,” Cuomo said.

“But would I be surprised? No. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s me. I mean that’s where we are, that’s who we are.”

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox later announced the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who was turned in by a family member and accused of fatally shooting Kirk.
