Coca-Cola Halts U.S. Fairlife Production Following Cyberattack

The Coca-Cola Co. temporarily suspended production of its Fairlife milk products in the United States after an unauthorized third party gained access to some of the company's production-related systems, Bloomberg News reported.

Coca-Cola said the incident was linked to a ransomware attack but emphasized that product quality and food safety were not affected. "The full scope, nature and impacts of the incident are not yet known," the company said in a statement.

The beverage maker said it had notified law enforcement authorities and was working with outside cybersecurity experts to investigate and contain the breach.

The company added that the cyberattack did not affect Fairlife's Canadian operations.

Coca-Cola shares slipped 1.1% in extended trading in New York following the announcement. Coca-Cola acquired Fairlife outright from Select Milk Producers in 2020 for approximately US$7 billion, expanding its portfolio of high-protein dairy products.
