ERC Penalizes Semirara Subsidiary

Southwest Luzon Power Corporation (SLPGC), a subsidiary of Semirara Mining and Power Corporation (SMPC), disclosed that it received Thursday, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Decision imposing a penalty for its outages.

In a disclosure, Semirara Mining said that ERC has imposed a penalty of P135,400 for allegedly exceeding the number of allowed unplanned (forced) outages of 16.9 days, as stipulated under ERC Resolution No. 10, Series of 2020 (“Resolution Adopting the Interim Reliability Performance Indices and Equivalent Outage Days Per Year of Generating Units”).
SLPGC Unit 2 had 17.44 days of unplanned outages from January 3 to 15, 2021 and April 21 to 25, 2021.
The company said it intends to appeal this Decision by filing a Motion for Reconsideration with the ERC.
