Five-month-old giant panda Fuhin was displayed to the public Thursday at a western Japan zoo in the same room with her mother for the first time, Kyodo News reported.

Fuhin weighed 157 grams when she was born on Nov. 22 at the Adventure World in Wakayama Prefecture, but she now weighs more than 8.5 kilograms. She started walking in March and her motor skills have developed, according to the zoo.

On Thursday, Fuhin walked about and played in the room while her mother Rauhin placidly ate her favorite bamboo shoots. They had previously been displayed to the public separately.

"She is so cute that I want to take her home. I hope she will grow up full of energy," cooed Masami Tsuji, a 46-year-old from Osaka Prefecture.

Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the zoo currently only allows 25 people to see the pandas at a time every four minutes.
