GOP Senator Calls for Full Investigation into Alex Pretti’s Murder

At least one Republican senator is calling for a full investigation into the incident that led to the death of an ICU nurse by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) immigration agents, David McAfee reported for Raw Story.

Following the death of Alex Pretti — who appears to have been shot by agents after being disarmed while carrying a concealed weapon — one GOP lawmaker had strong words regarding the credibility of agencies that are a priority for Republicans.

US Sen. Bill Cassidy, M.D., said, “The events in Minneapolis are incredibly disturbing.”

“The credibility of ICE and DHS is at stake,” Cassidy added Sunday. “There must be a full joint federal and state investigation. We can trust the American people with the truth.”

The centrist outlet Maverick responded, “Republicans are defecting.”
